We continue our series of music interviews recorded at this year's Jazz Fest in New Orleans, this week with STANTON MOORE. He's the drummer for local funk band Galactic, leads his own jazz trio and plays with lots of other bands and musicians. Moore has several new projects out now, including his own CD, DVD and book all titled "Groove Alchemy." Galactic's latest album is called "Ya-Ka-May" and sounds like a sampling of the city's eclectic music scene.
Bob concludes the hour with TROY ANDREWS who is better known as Trombone Shorty. His latest CD is called "Backatown." Andrews is only 24 but has been playing horns for 20 years already. He and his band, Orleans Avenue, fuse traditional New Orleans sounds with rock, jazz, soul, hip hop and funk influences to make what they call "supafunkrock."
Bob Edwards Weekend is a two-hour interview showcase, in which celebrated host Bob Edwards highlights the life and work of interesting people, from newsmakers, historians, and authors to artists, actors, and regular folks too.
